Internship Opportunity – Social Media and Marketing Support (Unpaid, Credit-bearing if interested)
The University of Florida International Center (UFIC) serves in a leadership and facilitation role to further the University’s international agenda. It provides support to faculty, staff, administrators, and students, as well as external stakeholders, in their international activities. In addition to assisting these audiences, the Center also functions to enhance the University’s ability to pursue and develop international activities and partnerships appropriate to its core mission: “To forge new paths in international education and engagement, to facilitate global collaboration through transformative international experiences and support services, and to further cross-cultural understanding.”

Social Media and Marketing Support Intern
Job Description:
UFIC seeks a dynamic, self-starter student to assist with social media and communications efforts. This internship is an excellent opportunity to experience various aspects of marketing while working in an international, diverse environment. Although unpaid, this internship has a credit-bearing option. Students seeking academic credit are responsible for completing and submitting any required documentation through their academic unit.
Responsibilities:
• Improve, update, and maintain UFIC’s social media presence using Hootsuite
• Design images and marketing material for events advertised on social media
• Collaborate with staff on new ideas, directions, and settings for live social media takeovers
• Assist with marketing and office activities
Qualifications:
• An effective communicator, both written and oral
• Firm grasp of available tools in social media; Hootsuite knowledge a plus, but can be learned onsite
• Second-year Communications B.A. completed or working toward a Communications M.A.
• Self-motivated, good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines
• Enthusiasm for the mission of the UF International Center
Use of own laptop required if working remotely.
Start Date:
Immediately. Requires a 6–8 months commitment, renewable
