Summary of Position

The Senior Manager, Events will help strategize, produce and oversee domestic and International events, festivals and conferences for STARZ Original Series. They will also liaise with Marketing, Programming and other internal departments on events. The ideal candidate will have at least years of experience executing events in the entertainment industry with preferred experience managing international events. Travel is a requirement for this role. This position will report to the Executive Director of Events.

Responsibilities

  • Works directly with the Executive Director of Events and other members of the Events and Communications teams to support the overall business objectives of the company.
  • Budgets, plans and executes a wide range of events to maximize STARZ Originals programming initiatives and reinforce the STARZ brand strategy
  • Manages all aspects of Publicity Events in the following areas for both International and Domestic:
  • STARZ Originals Premieres
  • Consumer Facing Festivals and Conventions
  • Set Visits
  • Corporate Communications
  • Provides additional support on all large-scale events related to Originals, including domestic and international premieres, press days, set visits, festivals, trade shows and fan events when appropriate
  • Ensures a seamless flow of event communication to all parties associated, including the STARZ Publicity team, STARZ Senior Management, Producers, and Co-production partners
  • Develops relationships with and manages third party event entities hired by STARZ
  • Secures third party sponsorships and partnerships
  • Organizes and keeps event documents up to date including status reports, team calendars, production timelines, checklists, run-of-show and executive memos
  • Develops and oversees event mailers / kits including conceiving, sourcing and delivery
  • Manages vendor invoices within budgets and accounting procedures
  • Negotiates venue, hotel and other contracts
  • Stays well-informed on event industry trends, new venues, and organizations
  • Represents STARZ at events

Qualifications & Skills

  • At least six years event planning and PR related experience, preferably within the entertainment industry
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in negotiations
  • Ability to prioritize well and work on several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to collaborate well with others and take direction while also being able to work well independently
  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Communications or similar field
  • Bilingual (preferred, but not required)
