Irving Publications, the Gainesville, Florida based publishing house of the award-winning Giggle Magazine and Wellness360 Magazine is seeking a social media intern to help grow all our brands across our social media platforms. We want them to sparkle and shine to our readers while growing engagement and our social presence!
This ideal candidate will help plan, prepare and execute our social media content and align it with our core values and mission.
This position will report directly to our Publisher and will be exposed to various opportunities including professional growth, portfolio-building, networking and mentorship, while growing
their knowledge and experience in the field of journalism and marketing.
In this role, you must be a self-starter and an excellent communicator and collaborator and always willing to go above and beyond and share ideas and opinions in a professional manner.
This internship is ideal for anyone who is obsessed with publishing, creativity, growing a social presence, branding, people and our community.

- Excel in social media knowledge and be creative

- Be able to write proficiently, have working knowledge or AP
- Be extremely adaptable, driven and ambitious, willing to pitch and try new things – and pivot when necessary.
- Maintains confidentiality where required
- Have excellent working knowledge of various social media channels including Facebook and Instagram
- Have basic knowledge of Google Docs, Google Sheets
- Have basic knowledge of Microsoft Word
- Understand Canva and Later platforms (not required)

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Be able to manage time, resources and projects for fast turnaround deadlines with efficiency

Job Responsibilities
- Help plan and implement the magazine’s social media schedule
- Coordinating pictures and resources for scheduled posts
- Assisting with events as needed
- Conducting research into emerging social media trends
- Create social media calendar
- Design basic posts using Canva
- Analyze data and share tips on what is working and not working
Qualifications
Be enrolled in a degree seeking program at University of Florida and be able to enroll in
approved internship credit through department
