Hyatt Vacation Ownership is seeking a dynamic, communications professional to join a newly created Global Communications Center of Excellence that is focused on leading holistic and integrated communications strategy that builds brand and business reputation and maximizes impact among key stakeholders.

  • Reporting to the Director, Associate Communications, this role supports Hyatt Vacation Ownership, a brand that believes vacations make humans better. They will be crucial in educating and enabling our Associates so they can help Owners rediscover the power and purpose of vacations.  It requires a professional with experience in internal and associate communications, executive communications and employer branding. Knowledge of and experience in external communications and brand PR is a plus. The position is responsible for the developing and executing communications activities in support of Hyatt Vacation Ownership and its leadership, ensuring alignment of messages from the company to key audiences. This position will work closely with cross functional senior leaders and functional heads across the organization.

The Senior Manager will also manage programs to support the annual communications strategy and employee engagement plan for HVO. The Senior Manager support will be responsible for executing tactics and writing messages to sustain and improve the overall associate experience and drive awareness of the HVO employee value proposition while deepening understanding of HVOs business goals and initiatives. In addition, this role will contribute to Owner and external communications strategies designed to maximize brand awareness and adoption.

This role will execute the details of numerous projects aligned to business goals and objectives, including partnering with stakeholders and internal clients to build project plans with appropriate deliverables, schedule follow ups to share progress and remain on schedule, providing creative input, managing the review and approval processes, writing messages, as well as integration into usage for associates at all levels and all brands/businesses.

Success requires excellent oral and written communication skills, a resilient and solution-focused spirit.  This position will work cross-functionally to support business leaders to deliver results.

Specific Expected Contributions

Communications Planning, Execution, and Measurement (60%)

  • Serve as a champion for change and cultural transformation, applying smart communication strategies to support the employee experience and change management strategy for the HVO business.
  • Provide communication expertise, counsel and support for major business initiatives including product transformations, reorganizations, policy changes, etc.
  • Help disseminate communications and overarching messaging that increases awareness, understanding and pride across the HVO organization.
  • Identify, prioritize and develop high-impact communications plans, campaigns and tactics that are measurable and that could be leveraged across internal and external channels.
  • Develop communications materials to help leaders prepare for key employee engagements and meetings and play a leadership role in creating content for the annual HVO leadership summit (e.g., presentation materials, speeches, talking points).
  • Work with the broader communications team to contribute to content strategy and manage the internal communications HVO editorial calendar for the department.
  • Monitor and track effectiveness of internal communications channels, messaging and programs and partner with leader to package results.
  • Provides communications collateral that meets and exceeds business requirements.

Intranet Management and Employee Forums and Publications (25%)

  • Serve as a member of the broader communications team and specifically serve as the content manager for HVO’s portion of the company intranet.
  • Routinely publish and update content to the HVO page and develop strategy to make certain HVO resorts are aware of content updates.
  • Use other employee-facing channels (Yammer / Teams) to develop strategies to engage employee audiences through smart communications forums (Town Halls) and content.
  • Serve as the editor in chief of HVO newsletter, developing and maintaining an editorial calendar, working across the functions and developing a toolkit for leaders to leverage this newsletter within their teams.

Team Engagement and Drive Results (15%)

  • Maintain a focus on elevating individual and team ability to think broadly and holistically about communications plans from concept to completion.
  • Develop, lead and inspire the team, each responsible for defining and delivering communications and branded experiences.
  • Create and foster career development and growth paths for team in alignment with company and personal objectives.
  • Have a laser focus on delivering against stated program objectives and employ a process of continuous improvement.

Specific Candidate Profile (the education, experience, skills and attributes that are important for this position)


  • BA or BS Degree Communications, Talent/Organizational Development, or Human Resources.
  • Change Management Professional and/or Project Manager certification preferred.

Technical Skills

AP Style, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Creative Suite, Apple Keynote, proficient with Apple operating system.

Travel Requirement

Travel required.  Approximately 10% of time


  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in related field.
  • Proven experience delivering effective communications that deliver against our strategies, on time, on budget.
  • Timeshare/hospitality/lodging industry experience a plus.
  • Prior experience with company intranets a plus.
