RESPONSIBILITIES
· Quality Control:
o Monitor and perform quality control (QC) checks on-air and streaming channels to ensure content meets regulatory compliance and company standards.
o Troubleshoot, resolve or escalate on-air and streaming issues promptly, coordinating with the Technology and Digital Media teams as needed.
· Content Coordination:
o Schedule and tune into live broadcasts, special programming and other media content.
o Ensure content is properly prepared for newscasts and other programming.
o Establish and route live shots and return video and/or audio feeds, as well as pull required media content from broadband live sources.
· Content Management:
o Check broadcast logs for missing content or clock trigger issues and send alerts when appropriate.
o Record and manage daily short duration topicals, weather cut-ins, and other content, typically producing 8-10 segments daily.
o Replace and coordinate updated topicals as required, communicating changes via intercom our Digital Media Team.
· Crawls and Alerts:
o Make ready and trigger weather crawls and breaking news updates for use on-air and in streaming content under the direction of our weather and news teams.
o Technical management of severe weather alerts and crawls generated by the weather team and automated sources.
o Operate sports crawls for designated newscasts.
· Technical Operations:
o Configure and trigger the time/temp bug for weather cut-ins.
o Perform satellite feed checks and recordings for scheduled programming, including morning and afternoon sessions.
o Run weekly Emergency Alert System (EAS) tests as scheduled and log results. Monitor and QC Monthly EAS tests.
o Monitor transmitter operations, including site security, tower lights, technical alarms, and transmitter readings.
· Administrative Tasks:
o Create, maintain, and submit daily operating logs.
o Perform required technical readings every three hours and document findings.
o Send end-of-day operating logs to the compliance team.
· Live Programming:
o Support live sports and other live programming by tuning in satellite feeds or routing digital content sources.
o Help to confirm proper on-air execution during live programming. |
