Responsibilities:

Provides best-in-class reporting and insights using data and analytics to measure communication efforts–determining return on investment/objective and recommending future action.

Work Activities/Context:

  • Must be able to meet any physical ability requirements listed on this description.
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee’s Leaders.
  • Conducts measurement reporting and analysis of various Communications activities and campaigns, both proactive and reactive.
  • Uses data mining techniques to find trends in news media coverage, social media conversation, and internal Company channels and messages.
  • Develop and maintain benchmarks and KPIs for Company communication channel metrics.
  • Assists with the daily compilation of news story data and insights for the Content Planning Team.
  • Able to distill complex data and insights into easy-to-understand findings, and provide clear action when applicable.
  • Coordinates with internal clients to provide comprehensive communications reports and insights.
  • Understands the importance of measurement strategy and setting quantifiable metrics for success.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • Experience: 1 Year of experience preferred
  • Analytical/ problem solving experience.
  • Experience in communication measurement. (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the Barcelona Principles and other Measurement Standards in using quantitative and qualitative data to gain insight on behavior, effectiveness, and key performance indicators. (preferred)
  • Must have some experience with measurement tools and databases (e.g. Cision, Radian 6, Adobe Omniture, Facebook and Twitter analytics/insights, Email measurement) (required)
  • Must have experience with news media monitoring and distribution databases, social media monitoring and listening tools, website analytics tools and databases, and data visualization products and tools. (required)

Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to perform work duties from [limited space work station/desk/office area] for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use a computer with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to bend, stand, and sit for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to travel long hallways in large buildings and in between campus buildings

Knowledge/Skills/ Ability/Workstyle:

  • Must have experience with news media monitoring and distribution databases, social media monitoring and listening tools, website analytics tools and databases, and data visualization products and tools. (required)
  • Must have an analytical background. (required)
  • Experience with Tableau. (highly preferred)
  • Experience analyzing large amounts of data. (preferred)
  • Must be technically proficient with Microsoft Office products especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and Powerpoint.
  • Must possess a strong understanding of how customers and employees use communication channels to promote a company’s brand. (required)
  • Prefer previous/current participation in measurement trade/industry organizations.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and possess a strong proficiency of the English language, including superior grammar, spelling, proofing, and organizational skills. (required)
  • Must be able to work quickly and under tight deadlines to turn measurement reports in breaking news/crisis situations.
  • Must meet confidentiality expectations pertaining to proprietary and sensitive information.
  • Must work well with others as part of a Team.
  • Must be able to handle multiple situations simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to present in large or small settings.
  • Must be a motivated, self-starter able to prioritize and organize projects with time constraints and the ability to complete them within a deadline.
  • Must be highly motivated to develop and manage work independently.

Other Qualifications:

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines.
  • Must have ability to travel as needed to any Southwest function, including evenings and weekend.
