Duties and Responsibilities:
Marketing Communications: Conducts and creates ongoing marketing communications research, program planning, implementation and evaluation that support the development and coordination of a consistent and effective institutional messaging and presence for the College. Works closely with content producers and subject matter experts throughout the College to support coordinated, integrated communications. Co-creates and implements communications programs that effectively describe and promote the College, associated degree programs, faculty expertise and products produced through research grants or other funded activity. Prepare or edit organizational publications, print and digital, for target audiences.
Public Relations Communications: Uses current and proven research-based communications strategy to serve broad institutional goals. Coordinates the production and placement of institutional-level communications, including select external relations, promotion of faculty, student and staff initiatives and accomplishments. Initiates and supports media and stakeholder relations, reviews media coverage and oversees news releases for distribution. Responds to requests for information from the media or designates an appropriate spokesperson or information source. Assists in developing and implementing effective messaging using copywriting, imagery, audio, video and animation.
Social Media Content Development, Dissemination and Assessment: Implements current social media strategies and tactics to grow engagement with targeted audiences and support organizational objectives. Manages and monitors the College’s primary accounts, creating and posting content, interacting with others to establish positive relationships, and building the college community. Integrates social media across communications efforts and offers support to college-sub accounts.
Promotion and Advocacy: Facilitates and participates in events and initiatives that promote the activities of the College; enhance its reputation; and inform, engage, and build support with strategic constituencies including the national and international media, opinion leaders, administrators, faculty, students, staff, alumni, donors, and the community.
Analysis and Reporting: Provides support for the collection of insights and analytics related to the impact of implemented social media campaigns, marketing campaigns and other communications products/output. Disseminates the results of evaluations as appropriate to team and partners, and uses data to inform future campaigns.
Performs other duties as assigned by the Communications Manager and the Director of E-Learning, Technology, and Communications.
Bachelor’s degree and three years of relevant experience; or an associate’s degree and five years of relevant experience.
Candidates should have superior interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, superior oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced business environment and ability to work proactively to provide wide-range of project support.
