Position Overview: The Communications and Media Intern will support the organization’s digital marketing efforts by creating and managing content across various social media platforms. This role involves developing engaging posts, designing graphics, filming short-form content, adhering to branding guidelines, scheduling posts, creating marketing materials, and participating in regular team meetings. The intern will work closely with policy-oriented interns to ensure cohesive communication strategies and to produce advocacy-based content. This is a creative role, and we welcome applicants who are passionate, artistic, and excited to develop a variety of content. Key Responsibilities:
Content Creation:
Develop and submit for approval a minimum of two social media posts per week. These may include Instagram reels, event recaps, or other relevant formats.
Produce one engaging story per week, such as “Motivational Monday” features, event reminders, or team introductions.
Brand Adherence:
Utilize Canva to design content that aligns with established branding guidelines, including specified fonts and colors.
Utilize editing software like Capcut, Adobe, or I-Movie to edit videos and reels.
Scheduling and Planning:
Develop and maintain a comprehensive posting schedule at the beginning of each semester to ensure consistent content delivery.
Marketing Design:
Design marketing materials for upcoming events, ensuring they meet promotional objectives and brand standards.
Photograph and document events hosted throughout the semester.
Team Collaboration:
Attend biweekly coalition social media meetings to discuss strategies, share updates, and coordinate efforts.
Work in tandem with the coalition and policy interns to synchronize messaging and campaign initiatives.
