Fundraising and Communications Intern

Website Humane Society of North Central Florida

HSNCF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to helping homeless pets in Alachua County for more than 50 years

Join our team as a Fundraising and Communications Intern and play a crucial role in supporting the development initiatives at the Humane Society. As an integral part of our team, you will contribute to fundraising efforts, manage social media, coordinate events, and enhance general communication and outreach strategies.

Interns at HSNCF gain invaluable hands-on experience in the administrative aspects of running a successful non-profit animal shelter. This experience not only provides a unique opportunity for personal and professional growth but can also be leveraged for academic, life, or future job experiences.

Please note that this is an unpaid internship, and we welcome dedicated individuals who are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of animals.

Aspiring candidates are invited to showcase their passion and skills by submitting an application package. Please include a resume, cover letter, details of your summer availability for internship hours, and a sample flier for a mock dog toy drive. This flier will not be posted, it simply serves as a demonstration of your ability to create promotional materials. Feel free to incorporate our branding, which can be explored on our social media platforms and if you need a free creation site, we recommend using Canva.

Our internship program accepts applicants for each semester, providing dynamic opportunities for hands-on experience. The weekly schedule is tailored to accommodate the availability of the interns and the specific requirements of the development team. Interns are expected to commit to 10-20 hours per week, and shifts are typically scheduled from Monday through Friday. This flexible arrangement ensures a balance between educational commitments and valuable contributions to our cause. In office presence is expected.
