Organization Description:
The Children’s Trust of Alachua County funds and supports a coordinated system of community services that allows all youth and their families to thrive, from physical and emotional wellness to educational supports and safety needs. Created by voter approval in 2018, the Children’s Trust is a special independent taxing district and works hand-in-hand with local children’s services partners.
Communications & Marketing Intern:
- Hours: 15 – 20 hours/week; occasionally evenings and/or weekends (During special events)
- Time Period: Entire length of Spring, Summer or Fall Semesters
- Compensation: $16 per hour
Position Summary:
The Communications & Marketing Intern works closely with the Communications Manager to assist with press releases, social media content, graphic design work, writing articles for newsletters, community engagement, and other marketing related efforts.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Be pursing or possess a degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, or a related field
- Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, and general computer literacy
- Possess graphic design experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on projects
- Ability to work on multiple tasks
- Experience with photography/videography is preferred
- Be interested in/motivated by issues affecting children, youth, and families
