Job Description:
The CNBC, Fast Money, intern will get the unique opportunity to gain journalism experience in both live TV and digital production. Our team also produces the digital show “ETF Edge” with host Bob Pisani.
CNBC’s “Fast Money” has one intern per cycle. Our intern will work closely with our production team to produce segments, participate in our editorial meetings and be in our live control room during the show. On the digital end, there are opportunities to have articles featured on CNBC.com.
This internship is ideal for students who are interested in converting business news and have taken broadcast and/or digital news writing courses. We also like to see students involved in their school’s newspapers , TV and/or radio stations.
Interns learn a lot in our universe and have moved to roles in the company after graduation.
Responsibilities:
- Help take our 5pm ET – 6pm ET show and digital program to air by coordinating production elements.
- Transcribe interviews from our digital shows.
- Writing articles for CNBC/com
- Assist in booking process – eventually producing segments.
Desired Competencies:
- Strong interest in business and economic news, pop culture and current affairs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to write accurately and concisely.
- Hunger to learn new skills tied to journalism.
- Ability to multi-task and stay highly organized.
Qualification:
- Ideal for students who have taken broadcast production and/or digital news courses and are involved in campus TV, radio and/or newspapers/digital publications.
- Desired majors include Broadcast Journalism, Business and Financial Reporting, Multimedia Journalism, Digital Journalism, Business, Economics, English, Communication.
