Anthropocene Alliance (A2) is seeking a public relations intern to join our team. A2 is the nation’s largest coalition of frontline communities fighting for environmental protection, supporting over 400 member-communities across the U.S. with organizing assistance, scientific guidance, and funding access. Our mission is to stand with communities affected by flooding, toxic waste, wildfires, and climate change who often lack the resources to fight alone, giving them practical help to protect their neighborhoods and homes.
We are currently seeking a public relations intern to help the Willie Mae Stokes Community Center (WMSCC) in Micanopy, FL enhance their visibility through targeted campaigns, website redesign, and a strategic expansion of their presence across multiple platforms. The small grassroots nonprofit is committed to positively impacting its community, and the numbers tell the story: 74 children daily attend the after-school enrichment program; 150 people line up weekly for free boxes of food; 60 receive free health screenings and vaccinations quarterly at the mobile outreach clinics; and 400 enjoy a free sit-down Thanksgiving dinner each year. By better articulating both their services and the challenges facing rural communities like Micanopy, the WMSCC will not only connect more effectively with those needing assistance but also forge valuable new partnerships and expand the network of resources.
