Role 1: Tech Tuesday TV Host
We’re looking for a charismatic, tech-savvy communicator to be the on-air face of Tech Tuesday, a joint programming of the University of Florida UF Innovate, SCAD Media and TV20.
The ideal candidate is passionate about all things innovation, research & tech—whether it’s emerging AI tools, biomedical research, the next storm resistant crops, data analytics, or cybersecurity—and knows how to explain complex topics in a way that excites and informs a general audience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research, script, and present engaging Tech Tuesday segments <strong>weekly</strong> (2–3 minutes).
- Collaborate with producers, editors, and digital staff to create compelling visuals and content.
- Conduct interviews with local tech entrepreneurs, business owners, or experts as needed.
- Represent the station at occasional local tech events, expos, or networking mixers.
- Ensure all reporting meets editorial standards for accuracy and fairness.
- Be available for 1-2 hours for each segment, flexibility and variable schedule required (we can work around classes/school hours)
Ideal Candidate Has:
- A strong interest in research, innovation, technology, gadgets, and digital trends
- On-camera experience (news, hosting, YouTube, podcasts, etc. all count!).
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
- A self-starter mindset with a passion for educating and entertaining.
- Comfort working under tight deadlines and in a collaborative environment.
- Available ad-hoc for certain interviewees availability
- Has Transportation available
- Familiarity with video production and digital editing is a plus.

Role 2: Social Media Assistant
You’ll help drive our digital storytelling and audience engagement by:
- Writing clear, engaging copy for Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
- Scheduling posts to align with our clients topics
- Assisting in social media strategy and trendspotting
- Monitoring post performance and audience interaction
- Helping repurpose content for online audiences (reels, stories, etc.)
What We’re Looking For:
- Strong on-camera presence and comfort with public speaking
- A genuine interest in tech, innovation, and digital culture
- Experience managing social media accounts for a brand, influencer, or organization
- Strong writing and grammar skills with a sharp editorial eye
- Basic familiarity with editing tools like Canva, CapCut, Adobe, or iMovie
- Ability to balance creative freedom with brand consistency
