C.A.M.E.O. (Community Action Modeling with Engagement and Outreach) program. C.A.M.E.O. focuses on designing and sharing accessible, community‑focused health information and initiatives that amplify trust, engagement, and participation in health‑related programs across Alachua County and beyond.
C.A.M.E.O. is a HealthStreet multi-disciplinary program that provides an opportunity for collaboration and participation in innovative community engagement practices among our volunteers and interns. The C.A.M.E.O. program has five core initiatives that support the HealthStreet mission of increasing opportunities to healthcare and health research, including Communication strategies, Analysis of data, community-engaged program Management, community health Education, and Outreach.
We are specifically seeking one to two students starting Summer 2026 with interests or skills in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, and/or digital media to assist with:
- Updating and maintaining the UF HealthStreet website
- Designing and refreshing graphics/flyers in Canva
- Creating content for our bi‑weekly email newsletter
- Supporting social media content and messaging across platforms
This role would offer meaningful, hands‑on experience in health communication, community engagement, and public‑interest storytelling, while allowing the student to build a strong portfolio and contribute to work that has a direct impact on community well‑being.
