Starr Wellness Collective (SWC) is seeking a highly detailed and forward-thinking Strategic Grant Research & Portfolio Management Intern. This role is critical for securing our financial future by building a robust pipeline of funding opportunities for the following year’s programming.
The intern will be responsible for proactively researching and identifying potential grantors whose missions align with SWC’s goals and meticulously maintaining our Grant Tracking Portfolio to ensure we are prepared for timely future applications. This is an excellent opportunity to gain strategic experience in non-profit development and financial planning.
Key Responsibilities1. Proactive Grant Research & Identification
Conduct extensive research to identify potential foundation, corporate, and government grant opportunities that align with SWC’s mission and programs (e.g., teen development, wellness, nutrition, Central Florida community focus).
Prioritize research efforts on next year’s funding cycles (2026) to ensure ample time for proposal development.
Analyze and summarize grantor requirements, giving levels, geographic focus, and typical funding themes.
2. Grant Portfolio Management (Spreadsheet Maintenance)
Maintain and update the master Grant Tracking Spreadsheet with meticulous detail, ensuring all data is accurate for future application cycles.
Key data points to track include:
Grantor contact information and history.
Annual application windows and hard deadlines (for 2026).
Required documents list.
Grant purpose and funding amount history.
Identify and log all pre-application steps necessary for submission (e.g., Letters of Inquiry, eligibility quizzes).
3. Content Support & Mission Alignment
Assist the development team by compiling research and data points that strengthen potential proposals.
Participate in team meetings to ensure all identified grants perfectly align with the mission of building strong bodies and mental resilience in youth and parents.

Qualifications
Qualifications Currently enrolled student (Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, Communications, English, or related fields preferred). Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, particularly with data management (spreadsheets). Strong research skills with the ability to synthesize large amounts of information concisely. Self-motivated, able to work independently, and highly reliable in meeting deadlines. Interest in non-profit fundraising and community impact.
