Come join the Alachua County Property Appraiser’s Office as the Social Media Graphic Designer! You will work closely with the marketing and communications team to create visually engaging graphics for social media and email marketing platforms. This role is ideal for a creative, detail-oriented individual eager to gain hands-on experience in social media marketing and graphic design while contributing to impactful projects. This role will be deeply involved in the day-to-day management of ACPA’s communication channels, as well as providing support to the organization’s branding initiatives, and will be an integral part of the Marketing & Communications department to help push the ACPA brand forward.
Under the direction of the Public Affairs Coordinator and Marketing Coordinator, the Social Media Graphic Designer Intern will help construct, implement, and support the organization’s social media strategy for the Alachua County Property Appraiser’s (ACPA) office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Design Responsibilities:
• Create eye-catching graphics, infographics, and visual assets for social media and email platforms (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, Mailchimp).
• Edit and enhance images, videos, and other multimedia content.
• Ensure all designs align with brand guidelines and project objectives.
Collaborations and Content Development:
• Work with the communications team to brainstorm and conceptualize creative content ideas.
• Assist in creating and maintaining a content calendar for social media posts.
• Collaborate with internal departments to develop integrated campaigns for community outreach initiatives, marketing efforts, and branded content.
Social Media Engagement and Monitoring
• Stay updated on design trends and social media platform requirements to produce engaging and relevant content.
• Monitor relevant social conversations around the Property Appraiser, Alachua County, and the local landscape to lead community communications efforts.
• Help manage relationships with local government agencies, affiliates, and vendors.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or a related field.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Canva, or similar software.
• Basic knowledge of video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects) is a plus.
• Strong portfolio showcasing graphic design work, especially for digital and social media.
• Understanding social media trends and best practices.
• Proficiency with social media platforms and analytics tools such as Blinkfire, Sprout Social, Sprinklr, or equivalent.
• Experience using DSLR cameras and the Adobe Creative Suite is preferred but not required.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work under fluid deadlines and complete tasks promptly and efficiently.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Working knowledge of copyright/IP laws is preferred.
