The Fordham Career Center is seeking a part-time Marketing Assistant to support omnichannel marketing, ensuring brand consistency and increasing campus engagement by promoting departmental events, initiatives, services, and resources. Reporting to the Communications and Marketing Specialist, the Marketing Assistant will work across the Career Center’s strategic initiatives, student engagement, employer relations, and mentorship teams to develop compelling content and engaging concepts.
Responsibilities include:
- Consult and collaborate with Career Center staff to execute audience engagement strategies, particularly for student-facing initiatives
- Design and edit print and digital graphics for promotional and educational purposes, including but not limited to flyers, postcards, and on-campus digital displays
- Create digital content (still, written, video) with respect to brand guidelines for social media, web, and email
- Oversee social media scheduling and community engagement
- Attend Career Center events to take photos and/or record video
- Maintain file management in Canva, Flickr, YouTube, and Career Center Shared Drive
- Assist with additional projects as necessary
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in marketing, communications (education and previous internships included)
- Graphic design skills with a strong eye for visual layout and aesthetics
- Social media management and platforms, particularly Instagram and LinkedIn
- Strong writing skills, knowledge of AP style preferred
- Photography & videography, plus editing skills
- Canva; Final Cut Pro and/or CapCut
- Communication, collaboration, attention to detail, problem-solving, and multitasking
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of communications and marketing accessibility guidelines
- Project management skills and platforms, such as Monday
- Familiarity with Nikon camera systems, including manual mode
- Major in Digital Media, Communications, Journalism, or related field
- Knowledge of or familiarity with Career Center services, resources, and offerings
- Interest in career and professional development
Additional information:
Location – This is an in-person position based at Fordham University. The candidate may choose to be based at either Rose Hill or Lincoln Center, but will have to work from the alternate campus for scheduled events. The incumbent may have one remote day per week.
Schedule: Flexible up to 19 hours per week, primarily between 9 am and 5 pm. Nights and weekends may be required for event coverage, with advanced notice.
Pay: $17-20 hourly, commensurate with experience
Preferred Start Date: March or April 2026
