Warner Bros. Animation Creative Services Design Intern: LA – Spring 2025

Your New Role

This internship will be located in the LA area. The selected intern will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager’s in office schedule.

As a Creative Services Design Intern, you will assist our graphic designers and production team members with daily design assignments. Our goal is to train you on the ins and outs of working as a designer in the animation industry, while building upon the talents you already possess. One of the best parts about working in Creative Services is that no two days look the same, and we aim to keep our interns busy with an assortment of fun and engaging projects.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Work on a variety of internal and external facing graphic design related projects such as posters, invites, social media templates, end credits, pitch decks, and more
  • Attend daily design meetings to review artwork and discuss creative approaches to projects
  • Take constructive feedback and apply notes from our Art Director and external stakeholders
  • Find creative ways to present designs for the studio
  • Upload and download assets from our production server and project management platforms

Qualifications & Experience

  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator
  • Please include a link to your Graphic Design portfolio on your resume if applicable
  • A love for all things animation and design
  • Comfortable working with different fonts and typography
  • A firm grasp of design principles, along with a willingness to learn and accept critiques
  • Excellent time management skills
  • The ability to be self-sufficient and collaborate with others when needed
  • The ability to apply notes given during review sessions
  • A willingness to challenge yourself through various types of assignments
  • Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
  • Must be a rising Junior or Senior Undergrad (18 years or older)
  • Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above cumulative GPA)
  • Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

The Nice to Haves

  • Experience using Adobe After Effects; proficiency is a plus
  • Proficiency in Keynote or PowerPoint
  • Previous experience working in a Graphic Design role

What to know before applying:

  • The duration of the program is 12-weeks

Program dates: 

Start Date: January 27th

End Date: April 18th

  • Interns will be expected to work 16-24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
  • Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
  • Interviewing will take place from October through early December. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for roles in locations where legally required. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns
